My house of bricks Reflection

 Hello guys,  I was supposed to post this on early August but I forgot to, sorry about that! But here is my blog.

My favourite Lego activity was passing the bricks because at the end I got to see what people did to my Lego and it looked so cool.

My least favourite Lego activity was mosaic because it was not very fun and I wanted a little more colours but that's OK.

The activity that tested my perseverance the most was race car because we had to make sure it was good and not bad but it was pretty hard to do that because on our first car it broke and then we fixed it then it flipped when it stopped then we tried again and it was perfect!

The most challenging activity was the race car because when we were making our car we had to make sure it would not break and went far so we had some trial and error.

I enjoyed working collaboratively with others because if I did not have a buddy it would be slower, but if you had a buddy you could work faster and have ideas and use them to make it cooler.

Super Sustainability

my epic story!

 Hi everyone today this week I've been making this story inspired by the movie UMBRELLA here it is,

Just before darkness fell, the door to Miss Elem’s Home For Children opened wide. The girl with the vibrant sunflower yellow umbrella, reverently entered the orphanage before finding a home for her umbrella. Not wanting to be seen, Boris fastly peeked his head around the door frame so that he was hidden from view. Standing off to the side, the girl observed the joyful scene while the children searched in the box for old treasures. The girl smiled while she watched the young boy racing around the room as fast as a roller coaster. Her smile swiftly vanished abruptly as she looked over to the umbrella stand and all she saw were puddles. Her beloved umbrella was gone.

Calystah's Trip Recount

 Hello everyone, today I will be telling you about Tumu’s trip to Margaret Mahy, 

On Thursday the 20th of May Tumu Hub went to the Waka to learn how to row the boat, Margaret Mahy Playground to draw pictures with Mrs Carney, Victoria Square to learn about the pou and other stuff there, we went to the Tuna so we can feed them, and we learnt about the mats all around the city for our learning.

My most favourite part of the trip was the Waka because we got to learn how to row the boat and we were supposed to say “Hee! Ha! Hee! Ha!” When we were paddling the waka, we also got to sing E minaka ana on the boat, and I was in the front of the Waka. 

Something I learnt about the Māori mats was how they were made out of brick not fabric, also how there were so many mats across the city, there were 5 layers on the mats! There were lots of interesting things on the mats like lots of leaves and Māori patterns.

The thing I found the most interesting was Margaret Mahy because they had many things about it. I did not know about some stories that Elsie Lock and Margaret Mahy did, songs from Ngai Tahu and some more songs, and there were even some native plants on the stones.

This trip has helped me with my PBL because I learnt more about my tūrangawaewae.

My fabulous Te reo!

 Hello! It is me, Calystah. Today I will show you my Te reo! I worked very hard on my posters and these "quotes" are called Whakataukī this is why it is Te reo! Anyways. Enjoy these Whakataukī's!

This is my 1st Whakataukī I made. I made it a bee style and Eilish did a honey style and Chydale did a Bee hive. We all had the same style but I thought of it 1st anyways, I added "Me mahi tahi tātou mo te oranga o te katoa" for this one. The meaning to me was "If we are all being kind it will be a good world and everyone will be happy".

This is my 2nd Whakataukī I made. I made it a ladybug style because I thought it would look cute, on the other hand the quote is "Haere taka mua, taka muri; kaua e whai" for this. The meaning for me is "Be the boss of you".

In Christchurch there is a place named Margaret Mahy, 

I go there to play and spend time having fun,

I like going to the flying fox and slide,

Feeding the ducks and birds at the pond is also nice,

Looking at the eels are so cool,

Going with my friends Lucy and Eilish made it double fun,

Climbing the spider web is kinda hard,

Over all its just so divine.

My enjoyable fidget toys!

 Kia ora! I am showing you some fidgets that I have! If you do not know what a fidget is, a fidget is helpful for stress and it makes you satisfied. That is what a fidget is, anyways enjoy my blog! 

1. Squishy poop

Yep it's a squishy poop, 

it's filled with sand and 

you can stretch and squish 

it into any shape you can think of.

2. Squishy cat pen

It's a ADORABLE squishy cat pen,

it's for 2 uses, writing and FIDGETING!

it's so satisfying to squish and play with.

3. Pop it

A pop it is very popular 

and I bet you have seen 

one of felt one before.

It looks very BIZARRE 

and looks like the bottom of a cupcake tin.

4. Putty

I bet most of you guys

 have putty in your house,

it's very smooshy and

it's the colour of hot pink.

My awesome Maths board 2!

 Hello! Today I made another Math's Board! It look's BETTER and COOLER! I had sooooo much fun! and I put a background to make it look AMAZING! anyways here is my maths board!

Here it is! as you can see I did 14 + 245 I did visual solution, solve it another way, solve it numerically and write a word problem. It was cool and incredible to do!

Kia ora, for this weeks Te Reo I did a comic strip using new kupu (words). I drew the characters by myself. There are 2 people who talked to each other named Bob/Ropata and Fred/Pereira.
